Ownership

Mark Larson of Middleton purchased Viking's assets and a scaled-down Viking Cue emerged. Larson is a local Wisconsin businessman with deep ties to the company, though he also owns other businesses (Midwest Prefinishing).

Local Sourcing

100% of Viking brand is made right here in Wisconsin, but Viking cues are made entirely in-house, except for the leather tips, rubber bumpers, and weight bolts. The company sources exotic woods that may come from outside the region.

Community Involvement

No evidence found in search results of significant sponsorships, nonprofit partnerships, or event involvement. The company focuses primarily on manufacturing and selling products rather than community engagement activities.

Local Workforce

When Viking reopened, they brought every one of those shop employees back with the exception of two. A Glassdoor review noted "significant improvements over the last two years" under new ownership with "new management to fix issues and improve the workplace." However, current non-union staff of 12 has downsized significantly from its heyday.

Revenue Retention

100% of Viking brand is made in Wisconsin and the company controls the design process from sourcing to manufacturing all under one roof at their Middleton facility. As a locally-owned manufacturer with no corporate parent, virtually all revenue stays local.
