Ownership

Working Draft was founded by Clint Lohman, Ryan Browne, and Ben Feifarek, who all started through homebrewing. Partners include nine family members of Browne, Ben Feifarek (owner of Wine & Hop Shop), and co-founder J Bowen, indicating local, independent ownership with significant family/local network investment.

Local Sourcing

Kitchen staff visit the farmers market twice weekly when in season for local produce, and source beef, pork and lamb through Fox Heritage Farms in Sauk City. Meat raffles feature meat from rotating purveyors including Fox Heritage Farms, Jenifer Street Market, and Wells Farms, showing significant regional sourcing commitment.

Community Involvement

WDBC sponsors an Artist-in-Residence program for area artists to find dedicated space in the taproom. Events include Madison Astronomy on Tap with UW graduate students, Lego nights, and regular community events. WDBC is committed to supporting local artisans, restaurants, and organizations.

Reviews consistently praise staff as incredibly well-trained with great customer service skills, always appropriately staffed and happy to be there. Employees are engaging, know their product, and greet customers with a smile, with customers becoming repeat patrons based on service.
